In a news briefing on Friday, the chief superintendent of Hong Kong's police public relations branch said police were highly restrained in the use of force.
He added that police have used proportionate force to deal with illegal and violent acts by protesters. He also said that police would take necessary action to preserve peace and public order. The Occupy Central movement is now in its second month. Hong Kong police have arrested over 300 violent protesters since protests began.
