HK anti-Occupy groups gather 1.8 mln signatures

Hong Kong SAR's chief secretary of administration, Carrie Lam has met with representatives from groups opposed to the Occupy Central movement.

The anti-Occupy groups have gathered some 1.8 million signatures from local residents.

Carrie Lam has dismissed protesters' call for the SAR's chief executive to dissolve the Legislative Council, saying it is an impractical suggestion. Meanwhile, Hong Kong police have once again called on the protesters to remain calm and withdraw from the streets.
