China congratulates Tunisia on legislative elections

China on Monday extended congratulations on Tunisia's successful legislative elections.

"It is another achievement for Tunisia in its political transitional process," ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular press briefing. "As a friend of Tunisia, China sincerely wishes it will gain long-term stability, prosperity and development."

The Tunisian election board released its preliminary result on Thursday, announcing the Nidaa Tounes party to have won the most seats in the new parliament.
