A limousine hit the central reservation of a highway in Ganzhou City, in east China's Jiangxi Province on Monday, killing four people on board, including a bride returning from her wedding photoshoot, local authorities said Tuesday.
The 15-seat vehicle, which was returning the wedding group from a photoshoot in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, hit the barrier on a section of the Ruigan Highway, which connects the cities of Ruijin and Ganzhou, at around midnight, according to local police.
Of the 12 aboard, four were pronounced dead at the scene and six others were injured, including the groom. The injured are being treated at a nearby hospital.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
A similar tragedy occurred in February this year, when a wedding car plunged into a reservoir in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, killing the driver, the bride and the bride's grandmother.
