Beijing residents can visit 84 famed scenic spots in China at a discounted price over the mandated holidays of November 7 to 12 for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, the Beijing Youth Daily reported. [Special coverage]
Destinations that will be discounted include Laojun Mountain in Henan Province and Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province, a historic town famed for its liquor and culture.
In addition to cheaper entry fees, Beijing residents can enjoy dining and accommodation discounts by presenting their identification cards.
A tourism industry insider said that the APEC holidays are an attempt for the government to adjust holiday schedules, according to a report on the Economic Daily.
