Li Changgen, 57, a senior official of the Henan High People's Court, was taken from his post suspected of "serious discipline and law violations" three days ago, the provincial commission for discipline inspection said on Thursday.
Chen Jingru, chief of the publicity department of the provincial discipline inspection commission, said he is under investigation.
The official had worked for Henan's public security system for 26 years. He was deputy head of Jiaozuo public security department and head of Xinyang public security department in Henan province.
He used to work under Qin Yuhai, who was in charge of the provincial public security department for nine years before being investigated in September. They had worked together for about four years, according to The Mirror Evening News.
