China and Japan on Friday agreed to gradually resume political, diplomatic and security dialogue through various multilateral and bilateral channels, China's Foreign Ministry announced.
The principled agreement was reached as Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with visiting National Security Advisor of Japan Shotaro Yachi.
The two sides have also agreed to make efforts to build political mutual trust, according to the agreement.
