A former Communist Party of China (CPC) Hebei provincial committee deputy secretary-general has been arrested, Hebei Procuratorate said on Saturday.
The arrested official, Liang Shulin, spent most of his career at the helm of provincial-level administrative services.
Liang was put under investigation for suspected violations of Party regulations in January.
He had also been deputy head of the legal affairs committee of the provincial legislature.
Hebei Procuratorate also announced an indictment against Liu Xueku, former director of the provincial Development and Reform Commission and deputy head of the finance and economic affairs committee of the provincial legislature.
Liu was charged of taking bribes, possession of huge amount of undocumented assets and insider trading.
