During the visit, Xi and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott will witness together the signing of a series of agreements in various fields, which will underpin bilateral comprehensive cooperation for the next stage.

Both as important economies in the Asia-Pacific, China is now comprehensively deepen reform and opening wider to the outside world, while Australia is speeding up its economic restructuring and industrial upgrading.
The two countries are highly complementary not only in traditional fields such as energy and resources, but also in new areas of growth such as finance, infrastructure and agriculture.
Given that, it is highly desirable that they conclude their bilateral free trade talks and set up a free trade area as soon as possible. That will facilitate the flow of products and services into each other's markets and increase common economic interests of the two countries.
On international and regional issues, China and Australia have seen an expanding range of common concerns and consensus, including fighting terrorism, combating organized crime and promoting peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific.
The two partners are also increasing military exchanges and joint exercises to raise the ability to address security challenges.
Xi's visit presents a historic opportunity to encourage the two countries to further tap into their cooperation potential and put China-Australia ties on the fast track.
