Los Angeles plans to attract more Chinese medical tourists after the city's mayor signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in southern China on Monday.
Nine U.S. and Chinese partners of the Discover LA Medical Care, signed the MoU in Guangzhou, southern China.
The new initiative aims to lure more Chinese tourists to the western U.S. city for treatment and care at five medical facilities
One of the Chinese signatories was China Southern Airlines, a leading carrier in China in terms of passenger volume, which operates Guangzhou-Los Angles direct service daily.
As part of the initiative, the city launched a new website, www.hellola.cn/medicalcare, offering resources and information on the availability of health care in Los Angeles.
