Another person has died after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit Kangding County in southwest China's Sichuan Province, bringing the death toll to five as of 3:30 pm Sunday.
The quake struck at 4:55 pm Saturday, the epicenter was in Tagong, Kangding, in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze, about 37 kilometers from the county seat, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
Fifty-four people were injured, with three out of the six in a critical condition now out of danger. The condition of three out of five who suffered severe injuries has improved. The remaining 43 people suffered minor injuries, according to the prefecture government.
The injured are all being treated in the Garze People's Hospital.
