Vice Premier Ma Kai has called for quicker efforts to develop general aviation so that it can meet public demand and contribute to the economy.
Speaking at a meeting on low-altitude airspace management, Ma urged a fast and healthy growth of the general aviation industry. The remark comes as the country plans to open its airspace below 1,000 meters in 2015.
A pilot program is currently underway in ten major cities, with reforms on simplifying the approval procedure and requirements of low altitude flights. General aviation refers to all civil aviation operations other than scheduled air services.
