SriLankan Airlines on Tuesday launched an air route linking the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo with southwest China's air hub, Kunming.
An Airbus 320-200 will operate on the route every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
China is trying to build the city of Kunming into a transportation hub linked with south and southeast Asia.
SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of the south Asia island country, flying to 89 destinations in 44 countries around the world.
