The 2015 European Games on Monday announced an agreement with China Central Television (CCTV) to broadcast the inaugural European Games to Chinese audiences, Azerbaijani media said.

CCTV, the state broadcaster in China, has acquired the rights across all broadcast platforms, including free-to-air television, subscription television, Internet and mobile phone.

The extensive deal grants exclusive broadcast rights across China to the station's CCTV 5 and CCTV 5+ sports channels.

The station will broadcast the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as highlights of all 20 sports competitions.

"We are delighted to have confirmed this significant deal with China Central Television which ensures the inaugural European Games will be enjoyed by a huge number of sports fans across Asia," said Simon Clegg, Chief Operating Officer of 2015 European Games.

Baku will host the first European Games next summer on June 12- 28, involving more than 6,000 athletes from the National Olympic Committees of Europe across 17 days of competition.
