Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Tonga's Crown Prince Tupouto'a'Ulukalala in Beijing on Wednesday.
Li said China-Tonga relations have maintained sound momentum since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1998. He said China values the friendship with the Pacific island country and attaches importance to bilateral ties.
Li called on both countries to implement the consensus reached between the state leaders and expand cooperation in trade, civil aviation, health, education, tourism, fishery and infrastructure.
Ulukalala said Tonga is willing to boost practical win-win cooperation with China to achieve mutual development.
