A cold front will hit most parts of China, bringing low temperatures and strong winds in the east, northeast and southwest, the national observatory forecast on Monday evening.
From Monday to Wednesday, temperatures in Inner Mongolia, Tibet and most parts of east China will drop by at least 4 degrees Celsius, some by as much as 12 degrees.
On Monday evening, a blue alert for wind was issued for Beijing, where fresh gales are expected from Monday night to Tuesday, according to the NMC.
China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
Snow is forecast for many parts of the country, including Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan, Shandong, Guizhou and Jilin.
