The Venetian Macao resort

The luxury hotel is a must-see site in Macao, and holds the largest casino in the world. But the hotel also features a host of cultural activities in its CotaiAreana and Venetian Theatre.

This is the CotaiArena in Macao. It has 15,000 seats and is seen by some as one of the best multi-purpose centers in Asia. It holds over 80 concerts and award ceremonies, and a host of stars from home and abroad have crossed its stage, including the Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga. It has also held basketball games and boxing matches.

The Venetian Theatre is situated right next to the CotaiArena, with a capacity of 1800, and is armed with the best lighting and acoustic equipment. Many renowned orchestras have played in these halls including the Philadelphia Orchestra and the China National Symphony Orchestra. Chinese master conductor Tandun was also on the baton for a celebration performance marking the 15th anniversary of Macao's return to China.

Tandun conducted his latest piece "The Marital Arts trilogy ". It consists of the soundtrack Tandun composed for three Martial Arts films. One of them is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, a martial arts cinematic masterpiece in 2000.

Macao is making a steady shift to become more culturally balanced in the city's focus and is on its way to become a cultural hub in southern China.
