A man was sentenced to death on Thursday for killing a family of six during a home robbery in south China's Guangdong Province.
According to the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, Su Yongsheng, 30, robbed a home in Panyu District on April 28 because he needed money to continue his online gaming.
Carrying knife and hammer, Su broke into an apartment on the 22nd floor of a building at 3 a.m.. He killed all six people inside the apartment during a fight that ensued after the homeowner discovered Su.
Su washed the bodies and cleaned the blood in the room and corridor before he fled the scene with 6,800 yuan in cash and six bank cards.
Su was convicted of robbery and the court sentenced him to death because of his serious crimes and bad social influence.
Su said in court he would not file an appeal.
