Chinese President Xi Jinping will arrive in Macao Friday noon to attend celebrations marking the 15th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, which falls on Saturday. [Special coverage]
According to the Macao Daily, President Xi is expected to meet with Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chui Sai On, principal officials of the SAR government and representatives of various circles before attending a welcome banquet and an evening gala in the evening.
On Saturday morning, President Xi will attend the ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of Macao's return to China and the inauguration of the fourth-term government of the Macao SAR at the Macao East Asian Games Dome, the newspaper said.
It said the president will also meet with the fourth-term chief executive of the SAR, as well as heads of the Legislative Assembly and judicial system.
"Xi is likely to visit some local institutions and families and meet residents and students," the paper said.
The president will leave on Saturday afternoon.
