5 dead, 9 injured in China building collapse

Five people were confirmed dead and another nine were injured as of Saturday morning after a building under construction collapsed on Friday in central China's Henan Province, local authorities said.

The collapse happened at around 4:35 p.m. at the construction site of a real estate project in Guangshan County, according to the county government.

The injured are receiving treatment at local hospitals. The real estate developer has been detained by police.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
