China's Civil Affairs Ministry on Wednesday issued a guideline on advancing rule of law, saying that it will hold accountable officials who get major decisions wrong.
The ministry will build mechanism to track down mistakes in major decisions that lead to serious losses, as well as a system to hold accountable all officials, no matter in-service or retired, for major mistakes in decisions and violations of the decision-making process.
The guideline said it will advance the legal system concerning people's livelihoods and social governance, with social welfare, charity work, social assistance, disaster relief, grassroots democracy and aging services as the focus of its work.
