Five people were buried in a tunnel collapse in south China's Guangdong Province on Monday afternoon, local authorities said.
The accident happened at about 5 p.m. at the Fenghuangshan tunnel in the provincial capital of Guangzhou where a landslide buried five workers, according to a statement from the municipal transportation commission.
Their chances of survival are slim, according to workers at the site.
The tunnel is being built by the China Railway 23th Construction Bureau Ltd.
Rescue work is still under way.
