In 2015, the Beijing government will remodel houses for persons with disabilities, making them barrier-free and disabled-friendly, according to the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, the Beijing News reported.
Among the families whose homes will be remodeled, 6,979 will have lowered sinks, an anti-skid floor in their bathrooms, and wall handles throughout the house. Additionally, 32,000 families with deaf family members will receive visible flashing doorbells and fire alarms for their homes.
