A suspected arsonist has been caught after a bus fire caused injuries in east China's Fujian Province on Thursday.
While on its regular route, No. 656 bus caught fire at 8 a.m. in Xiamen City. The blaze has since been extinguished, according to a spokesman with the city's public security bureau.
One passenger suffered burns while others were injured after the driver applied the emergency brake. They were rushed to the hospital.
An initial police investigation showed the suspected arsonist was a 53-year-old man surnamed Cai. He was also suspected of earlier arson at a local food company on the same day.
Cai was dismissed from the company for theft on Wednesday. The fire at the food company caused no injuries.
Further investigation of the case is underway.
