Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying urged the public to be realistic when it comes to discussing constitutional development during a radio program on Sunday.
Leung said the government is open to different views on constitutional development. But he, again, stated that discussion should be based on the Basic Law and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's constitutional status.
He noted that any reform proposals had to be approved by the central government.
On housing, one of the major social concerns in Hong Kong, Leung said he believed the current acute supply shortage is coming to an end. He expressed the hope that there will be more subsidized flats available for the public to choose from in future.
