A joint humanitarian assistance and disaster relief drill by China and the United States concluded in Haikou on Sunday.
Commander of the Guangzhou Military Area Command Xu Fenlin told a press conference after the drill that personnel from the two armies conducted both indoor tabletop and practical field exercises, exchanged experience and bettered capability of conducting joint actions.
The drill laid the foundations for future joint disaster relief by the two armies and helped establish a new type of military relations for the two armies, Xu said.
Commanding General of the US Army Pacific General Vincent Brooks also attended the closing ceremony.
