Minivan accident kills 7 in SW China

A minivan fell into a river on Sunday afternoon, killing seven and injuring one, local authorities said.

A minivan carrying eight passengers lurched into a nearby river while travelling on a road connecting Guizhou Province and Chongqing municipality around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Seven passengers died from the accident while the other surviving passenger only sustained slight injury, local authorities said.

Cause of the accident is under investigation.
