A 16-year-old Chinese was "looking for something fun to do" when he set fire to a downtown Beijing department store on Thursday, police said.
Fire fighters had managed to get the fire under control by Friday evening. The fire, at the Bairong Shimao Department Store in Beijing's Dongcheng District, started at about 9 a.m. Thursday.
No casualties have been reported.
Police have captured the suspect, Han, an employee, who allegedly caused the fire by setting light to carton in the warehouse, according to the Beijing Public Security Bureau.
Over 230 fire fighters were involved in the fire fighting operation.
