Four new national standards for fireworks' packaging, production and labeling were set by China's regulatory body on Wednesday in an effort to ensure the safety of fireworks production and display.
The new compulsory standards on fireworks, unveiled by the Standardization Committee of China, stipulates that firework products must include labels of distance of safety for audiences, user manuals and safety warnings for workers.
The committee said consumers should strictly follow the user guide on the packages of the firework products to ensure safety.
The authority also drafted a new standard for fireworks by professional display companies, which sets strict requirements for the amount of blasting powder allowed to be used.
The authority also unveiled a new standard on the packaging and transportation of fireworks, which includes detailed technical requirements for fireworks products during the packaging and transportation process.
The four new standards will take effect starting from April 1, 2016.
