Randolph Morris' double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds led Beijing to a 111-92 home victory over Jilin in Game 2 of the first round at Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league playoffs on Sunday.
Beijing's Li Gen had 25 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Stephon Marbury finished with 17 points, five assists and four steals while Zhai Xiaochuan added 17 points. Jilin's Dominique Jones had a game-high 32 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, Denzel Bowles and Cui Jinming contributed 27 and 10 respectively.
Beijing only led by one point after the first quarter before Marbury made consecutive shots in the second one to help extending the lead to 59-42 into halftime.
Jones scored 18 points in the third quarter and narrowed the gap to 10 points, but was still unable to delay the coming of opponents' second straight victory in this series.
Beijing now leads 2-0 in the best-of-five series and will host the Game 3 on Tuesday.
Guangdong, who lost Friday's first game by 117-116, downed Dongguan 112-89 at home to tie the best-of-five series 1-1.
Yi Jianlian scored 34 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Zhu Fangyu had 18 and eight rebounds, Jeff Adrien had 19 and 11 rebounds, Will Bynum finished with nine and 11 assists and Wang Shipeng added 15. Dongguan's foreign duo Bobby Brown and Ike Diogu combined with 52 points and Meng Duo had 10.
Dongguan led 9-7 in the very beginning of the game, but Yi Jianlian and Wang Shipeng built a 6-0 run and made Guangdong lead 13-9. Guangdong never trailed after that and the lead extended to as many as 35 points midway in the second quarter. The third game will be held on Tuesday.
