Wang Rong, former secretary of Shenzhen's city committee of the Communist Party of China in south China's Guangdong Province, was elected chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Guangdong's political advisory body, on Tuesday.
Wang replaced Zhu Mingguo, who was put under investigation for "serious disciplinary and legal violations" in late November. Zhu was disqualified in December as a member of the CPPCC National Committee.
The election was held at the third session of the 11th provincial committee of CPPCC.
