The Beijing Medical Administration of Hospitals announced that the doctor-patient exchange program that was initiated in 2014 will become a yearly routine for Beijing hospitals, according to the Beijing Times.
This exchange is aimed at helping doctors and patients better understand each other.
During the doctor-patient exchange period in 2014, Beijing residents were invited to hospitals for a day to shadow doctors. Meanwhile, doctors and hospital administrators were asked to go to other hospitals to experience the anxiety and difficulty associated with standing in line and registering.
The exchange program brought forth 145 measures to further improve the convenience of patients in 21 major hospitals, including the adoption of self-print medical bill machines and making test results available online.
