The State Council on Wednesday called for better land management, vital for economic development.
Violations of regulations during the management of the funds from land sales will be severely punished and failing to make good use of idle land should be reversed, said a statement released after an executive meeting of the State Council.
Premier Li Keqiang, presiding over the meeting, urged improved arable land protection and better use of existing land.
