Senior official in Guiyang probed for corruption

Ding Xudong, a member of the standing committee of Guiyang Party committee and the top official of Guanshanhu District in Guiyang, Guizhou province, was under investigation for corruption, according to the Discipline Inspection Commission of Guizhou.

Ding, born in October 1959, started as a worker at a local water company in 1977. He became a bureacrat 20 years later and climbed in the ladder of the officialdom until taking the current position in 2012.
