Xu Aimin, a senior political advisor in east China's Jiangxi province, was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for "serious breaches of political rules and Party discipline", said the CPC's discipline agency on Tuesday.
Xu was vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Xu took advantage of his post to seek employment and promotions for his daughter and son-in-law and abused his power which led to heavy losses in state assets, said a statement from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
Xu also employed trickery to win himself the title of "master of Chinese ceramic arts", the statement said.
