InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort opens

The InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort opened on Feb 8. The hotel was designed in traditional Chinese and Southeast Asian style with modern facilities. The hotel boasts 274 rooms and a 710-square-meter ballroom. 

Carlson Rezidor, one of top 10 global hotel groups, plans to triple its portfolio of operational hotels in China from 14 to 50 by 2019. Radisson South Hotspring Chongqing, the third Carlson Rezidor hotel in the city, is to open within this year. "The China market is expected to represent 25 percent of our Asia-Pacific portfolio of operational hotels by 2020," said Thorsten Kirschke, the company's Asia Pacific president.
