New Bruce Lee biopic springs into action

Bruce Lee and his life will be portrayed on the big screen, according to an announcement made by the legendary martial arts star's daughter Shannon Lee on Friday. And his family will be fully involved in the biopic's production.

Despite his untimely death in 1973, at the tender age of 32, Bruce Lee helped create and popularize a genre that still endures and influences today, with roles in films such as "Fist of Fury," "Way of the Dragon," and "Enter the Dragon."

Bruce Lee Entertainment will produce the project in collaboration with producers Lawrence Grey and Janet Yang.

In the statement, Lee's daughter Shannon said the film will explore her father's writings and philosophies as well as his martial arts.

A cast and a director have yet to be chosen for the project.
