Guangzhou R&F beat Hangzhou Greentown 2-1 as the 2015 Chinese Super League (CSL) kicked off at the Yellow Dragon Stadium in the city of Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province on Saturday.
Following a goalless first half, Guangzhou's Aaron Olanare broke the deadlock with a header in the 54th minute. Wang Song had a good chance to extend Guangzhou's lead but his free-kick was tipped over the crossbar by Greentown's goalkeeper Gu Chao.
In the 79th minute, Kang Miao sent the ball in from the right, Abderrazak Hamdallah dove in and added the second goal for Guangzhou.
Greentown's Bassem Boulaabi scored in the 90th minute, but not enough to save his team.
In another game, Shanghai SIPG defeated Jiangsu Sainty 2-1 at home. Dario Conca excelled in his opener after joining Shanghai SIPG club and was involved in both goals.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who had three successful seasons with Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande between 2011 and 2013, returned to China and joined Shanghai SIPG club after only one year at Brazilian club Fluminense.
Conca and Wang Shenchao combined on the right and dashed into the box, Wang crossed the ball to Yu Hai and the latter scored in the 9th minute. Six minutes later, Vidar Kjartansson took a forward pass from Conca in his stride and drove a firm shot low into the net. Sainty's Ren Hang clipped a cross and Tobias Hysen made the goal in 38th minute. However, SIPG maintained the advantage to the end.
Thanks to Derick Ogbu's winning goal in the fourth minute, Liaoning Whowin were 1-0 winners away at Guizhou Renhe.
