Police captured a man who was driving a car with illegal license plate and tried to escape a roadside check by police in Beijing on Sunday.
Police said the man drove his car to evade check at about 10:50 a.m. on the Tianningsi overpass in downtown Beijing. Police stopped the car and captured the driver at Beixinhua Street, about 4.5 km away from the overpass. The man's car hit two cars and road barrier during his runaway.
The driver, Li, 26, is from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The man said he was nervous when he saw police as he was driving a car with illegal license plate, according to police.
Further investigation is underway.
