China's quality supervision authorities organized a national rehearsal of "12365" administrator hotlines in a bid to deal with complaints, reports and consultations from the public regarding product quality.

The rehearsal was held jointly by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine(AQSIQ) and its local branches on Wednesday, just before World Consumer Rights Day on March 15, known as "3.15" in China.

Director of the AQSIQ Zhi Shuping and deputy director Chen Gang joined the rehearsal.

A total of 2,423 cases were accepted during the day, including 254 complaints and 215 reports.

Besides, 550 lawbreaking allegations were examined on the day, according to the administration.

The "12365" administrator hotlines are a daily scheme for authorities to accept quality violating clues.

"12365" means the hotlines are open in 12 months and 365 days in a year.

The "12365" hotline network was piloted in 2001 by Beijing Municipal Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision, a local branch of the AQSIQ.
