The government on Friday announced it would allocate 90 million yuan (14.6 million U.S. dollars) to disaster relief efforts in southwest China's Yunnan Province following a 5.5 magnitude earthquake on March 1.
The money, processed jointly by the civil affairs and finance ministries, will cover the relocation of those displaced; the repair and reconstruction of homes;and assistance funds.
The authorities have also dispatched thousands of quilts, coats and folding beds to areas in Cangyuan County, Yunnan.
No one has died, but dozens were injured and thousands affected.
