An explosion at a railway construction site in east China's Fujian Province killed two and injured seven on Sunday morning. the local information office announced on Monday.
The accident happened at about 8:50 a.m. on a section of the Nanping-Sanming-Longyan railway, 18 workers were in the vicinity, according to the Nanping municipal government's information office.
One was pronounced dead on the scene and another died in hospital. The injured are all stable and are being treated at a local hospital.
The investigation continues.
