A new air route between Jinan city in east China's Shandong Province and New Delhi, capital of India, will be launched this year, China's Shandong Airline announced on Wednesday.
The Boeing 737 will fly twice a week between the two cities via Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Travel time will be cut to about eight hours.
The flight is expected to boost tourism and economic cooperation between Shandong and India.
