A former vice mayor of Longyan in Fujian Province is being investigated for alleged bribe-taking, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said in a statement Tuesday.
Chen Shengyi is under probe and under "coercive measures" by the Zhangzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate for taking bribes, the statement said.
According to Criminal Procedure Law, coercive measures include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest. The SPP did not specify what measures had been taken.
