(Ecns.cn)--The European Union has recently initiated an anti-dumping investigation into ceramic kitchen ware imported from China, revealed China News Service on Tuesday, citing the Foshan branch of the China Ceramic Industry Association.
According to the report, the EU had already informed the related Chinese department, and the China Ceramic Industry Association alerted all its branches to the pending investigation and advised them to take relevant and proper measures to deal with it.
The investigation has had a negative impact on Chinese ceramic products, admitted Lan Weibing, head of the Foshan branch.
Chinese exported ceramic products have a good reputation generally and performed well in the European market, but a formal investigation on file with the EU implicates over 2,000 Chinese ceramic companies, and once anti-dumping duties have been levied the negative consequences will not be addressed overnight, warned Lan.
The China Ceramic Industry Association is closely scrutinizing this investigation, and will work alongside other departments to help Chinese companies weather it.
