There are preliminary signs that Chinese female entrepreneurs are adapting to complicated economic environments both at home and abroad, a report shows.

In 2011, 62 percent of surveyed female entrepreneurs are doing business in the service industry, 3 percentage points higher than the year 2009, according to the report released on March 1 by the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs. The association surveyed 500 female entrepreneurs from all over China last year.

The report also shows that exports were less accounted for with regards to the revenue gained by companies which are led by female entrepreneurs in 2011 than in 2009. Eighteen percent of these companies said their export revenue accounted for more than 70 percent of their revenue in 2011, while the percentage for such companies in 2009 was 20 percent.

Twenty-five percent of all the companies surveyed said their export revenue accounted for 31 to 70 percent of their entire revenue in 2011. The percentage for such companies in 2009 was 28 percent.

Ninety-one percent of all the female entrepreneurs surveyed said their aim during the 12th Five-year Plan period (2011-2015) is to explore the domestic market.

Fifty-one percent of women entrepreneurs already had environment-friendly products or services by the year 2011. Another 16 percent of them said they are developing such products or services.
