Power use to expand 8.8%

China's power use is expected to rise an average 8.8 percent a year in the five years ending 2015 before growth slows to 5.6 percent annually through 2020, according to the China Electricity Council.

Growth in power consumption could slow amid government attempts to cool inflation and restructure the economy.

The nation's exports and domestic demand moderated faster than economists forecast in the first two months of this year.
