China opens first 4S store for private planes

(Ecns.cn)--China's first 4S store for private planes opened for business on March 16th in Zhuhai, a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong Province, according to China National Radio (CNR) Monday.

The 4S store is attached to Zhuhai Cirrus FBO (Fixed Base Operator) and will mainly sell two types of aircraft, the Cirrus S22 and Cirrus S20. The price of the planes will be no more than five million yuan each (US$790,825).

It is claimed that the 4S store has already sold 14 private jets, and the customers mostly come from Shenzhen, Dalian, and some cities in Heilongjiang Province. To date, one plane has already been turned over to a consumer.

Different from the 4S store licensed in Shanghai last year which provides services for large business aircrafts , this store serves small aircraft.

According to Zhuhai Cirrus FBO, it took the company over a year to get approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and this Zhuhai 4S store is just the start. The company plans to open more 4S stores in Shenyang, Dandong and Daqing.
