(Ecns.cn)--Wal-Mart, which sold mislabeled pork in Chongqing last year, has been caught selling pork ribs from sick animals at a store in Dazhou city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to the National Business Daily on Monday.
"The sick pork ribs were examined in January this year," said a local officer, adding that 405.8 kilograms were sold for 22.83 yuan per kilogram.
Local media reported the incident immediately after the government inspection on January 9, but the matter has only recently received nationwide attention.
Wal-Mart said it had stopped the contract with the pork supplier and sent a task force to cooperate with the Dazhou government.
Last year in Chongqing, the firm falsely advertised meat as organic. 13 stores were closed for a 15-day period over the issue.
