(Ecns.cn)--Both of China's two largest train makers have recently won orders from domestic and foreign buyers, according to the Caixin report Thursday.
China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Ltd (CSR) through one of its branches called CSR Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., won its bid on Wednesday to make 50 high-end railway passenger vehicles for Guangshen Railway Company Ltd in Shenzhen.
CSR will finish and deliver all the vehicles by the end of mid September this year, and the vehicles will run from Guangdong East Station to Kowloon railway station in Hong Kong starting in October, said CSR.
Also on Wednesday, one of the wholly-owned subsidiaries of China North Locomotive and Rolling Corp Ltd (CNR), announced that it had reached freight train sales deals with two companies in Kazakhstan of a combined worth totaling 1.04 billion yuan (US$164.71 million).
Among the 10 members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Kazakhstan has the third largest inventory of freight trains after Russia and Ukraine. CNR is China's largest and the world's second largest supplier of freight trains, controlling a 13 percent share of the global freight train market.
